Pivot to Profit Week 2 Day 1: Organizational Styles

2020 holiday prep challenge Aug 24, 2020

Welcome to Week 2 of the 2020 Holiday Prep Challenge: Pivot to Profit!

Here’s a (digital and socially-distanced) high-five for continuing to show up for the challenge. I see you out there, “walking the walk” and “talking the talk” of a truly successful creative business owner. You are in the right place!

Last week was all about getting yourself in the right mindset for success. It is SO much harder for you and your business to be successful if you are constantly doubting whether or not it’s possible. Coming at this as though success is an inevitability will give you a straight path to the finish line.

This week, it’s about organization.

Getting yourself and your business sorted out now is going to be extremely valuable as your business grows. Take it from me: trying to organize after the fact is much more difficult!

There are four major areas of organization that we are going to discuss:

  1. Organizing your schedule
  2. Organizing your workspace
  3. Organizing yourself
  4. Organizing your tasks

Before we tackle these four areas, it’s important that you know what kind of organization works for you

There’s no sense in fighting your personal preferences: if you like things out where you can see them, that’s great! If you like to have things tucked away, awesome.

You just need to be true to YOU, so that you are setting up an organizational system that you can actually maintain and be productive in.

Today’s Task:

Cas Aarssen is a certified organization expert and the mastermind behind the Clutterbug method. She has designed a system that sorts people into 4 different types of “Clutterbugs” with a super cute (and weirdly accurate) quiz.

Take a few minutes to take the Clutterbug Quiz, which asks you a series of questions about your preferences. At the end of the quiz, you will get your “Bug Style”, complete with a description and a video that gives you organizational ideas that are tailored to your type.

Then, make sure you pop over into the group and let us know what kind of Clutterbug you are! (spoiler alert: I’m a butterfly

Knowing what works for you will really help you stay focused as you move through this week’s tasks.

By the end of this week, you will have all of the tools you need to be organized for maximum efficiency and success in your business.
