Introducing
I've had my handmade business (bel monili) since 2010, and in the 10 years since I began, I have walked the familiar path that starts out with setting up my show table in a school cafeteria or a church basement, moved up to festivals and fairs, then on to Etsy, and then graduated to my very own "Real Life Website."
I know all about the weekend hustle and the #craftshowlife : it was at these shows where I really started to build my business. I navigated through the jungle of figuring out how to be online with my business: first in an Etsy shop and then on my own Shopify website.
The year I finally took charge of my digital marketing and opened up my Shopify site was the first year my business pased $100k in sales.
What took me so long to get the gears all moving together?
Well...I just didn't know what to do. I mean, I knew what I SHOULD be doing...I SHOULD be on social media, I SHOULD be sending emails, I SHOULD have my own website...but I didn't have the first clue as to what order I should do it in, what I should prioritize, or how I would even BEGIN to dip my toe into the Shopify waters.
This is where it gets good: I love my handmade community, and I don't want anyone else to struggle through the process like I did when I KNOW the struggle isn't necessary. I took stock of the process (what worked and what didn't), mapped it all out, and now I am offering it to you with my love and support.
